HOW CELEBS STAY YOUNG, 6 SECRETS
1. DO NOT DRINK ALCOHOL
Alcohol, as we all know, causes dehydration. "Going to bed after a bender without properly treating your face is like tanning in Cozumel for a week without using sunscreen," says one famous starlet known for her work on High School Musical.
Abusing alcohol will, over time, decrease the body's ability to produce collagen and reduces skin's firmness and elasticity, which will cause dry, sagging, wrinkled skin.
2. STAY OUT OF THE SUN
This one is essential and simple. However, if you must venture into the light use a high powered, high quality sun block. "On my face and neck I use spf 45 and on the rest of my body I use spf. That way I'm protected but I can still get a nice tan," says a famous former Mickey Mouse Club diva.
3. DON'T DRINK COFFEE
Caffeine is nature's diuretic and coffee contains it in spades. It causes the body to get rid of necessary liquids and nutrients. Jesus-lovin' Country music singers agree, "When I drink too much coffee, my teeth become noticeable stained and I can swear that the slight wrinkles around my eyes start developing into crow's feet."
4. CITRUS AND VEGETABLES ARE YOUR FRIENDS
Green leafy vegetables like spinach contain antioxidants essential to skin health. Citrus fruits like oranges and grapefruits contain vitamin C, which boosts the skin's collagen production increasing skin elasticity and firmness.
5. DRINK 10 GLASSES OF WATER
"I drink at least 10 glasses of water a day, and really notice that my skin looks dull, gray, and vapid when I don't," says a certain hotel-fortune heiress.
6. APPLY A NIGHT CREAM WITH PROVEN AGE FIGHTING COMPOUNDS
A night cream is the most important step of your beauty routine. Night cream with proven age-fighting compounds like retinol, vitamin C, and peptides will help reduce the environment's and nature's effect on your skin. "Using a night cream has helped me preserve my youth. Young boys always approach me at the gym and at clubs thinking I am some 25 year old starlet. I guess they haven't seen my films from the early 1980s and wouldn't guess I'm 45," laughs a member of Hollywood royalty who wisely decided to comment anonymously.
